Days Weeks Months Years 1960 to 2010

December 31, 2014

This is the penultimate in my serious on what went before 2010. The next and final one will take a brief look at what the future may hold.

The previous century was a first in everything no matter how you look at it but what is called the history of it can be described in a few words: a monumental misrepresentation of the truth and a cozy reflection of the myths that we live by.

In America Kennedy won on his promise to send a man to the moon and we are still tinkering with space exploration while our precious earth, the only place for mankind in the universe is being destroyed by Freedom. In many of the newly free Nations every crook and shyster is free of responsibility for his own life. The moral codes of life before have disappeared.

Governments have been taken over by money and the super rich; ordinary people have to eat Freedom.

In Africa we have gone the extra mile to stretch the imagination to breaking point but it keeps the World happy, except the ongoing revolution between old and new factions. The typical African State is still run by the traditional Leader but he now wears a business suite and flies in a luxury jet plane all over the World and they call it a Democracy to satisfy Jimmy Carter and his ilk. The poor still suffer [they are actually getting poorer and suffer more, but that’s OK] because they still vote the ways their forefathers did; the headman takes all.

America, never a war mongering Nation in the past is now fueling discontent all over the World in fear of a new Russia and in the years since 2005 or thereabouts a real fear of the economic power of an emerging China.

America is still in the arms race, supplying half of the World’s terrorists with killing material because there is money in making the stuff. Hence in the previous fifty years after Korea they shot up Vietnam, Libya, and Egypt and sold the killing stuff to everyone of the competing factions in the Gulf Region to make money.

The latter commodity has virtually ceased to exist. Most countries are now saving some trees by transferring what is called money to entries on computer chips. Hence countries are printing fewer notes, just for the poor to make them continue believing that there is still money. Big money, drug money and wise money are on computer chips and untraceable to investigative authorities. International Balance of Trade payments are now handled by Forex, in itself a money laundering business but with huge profits to the few in charge of the scam. Gold has lost its luster and diamonds, precious gem stones and cultured pearls are now hobby material for film stars and jewelry nuts.

Law and order are still practiced in Russia, China, some Gulf States and Australia [so there is still some hope] but has gone in America and most of Africa What it could have been in America if the two Kennedy brothers had full opportunity to install their brand of Liberalism gone awry is fortunately impossible to say. Thank Heavens above their influence was short-lived though Carter tried his best when America made the stupid mistake of removing Nixon. Why Nixon had decided to burglar Watergate remains a mystery to me. Perhaps he thought of Chicago 1968 and Vietnam. Either way he stopped anarchy at Pen State before he was forced out of Office early in the seventies and his visit to China paved the way for a sane policy with that mighty land.

Time to conclude on America and to get to Africa in this my final Post on the matter; a Land I always loved, America, and still do, but Americans just don’t understand Africa or most of the World. You still tried under Reagan and had a chance under George W but you screwed it up with Carter, Clinton and, finally, with the Bama. There is only one hope for America; to go back to what you believed when you first started up. You will have to preserve that life and get out of the rest of the World; you will have to get rid of your obsessive fear of Islam and Communism; the latter was never a threat to America though it did present a military threat for a short while but even that only in the eyes of Americans. Communism has long been a spent force; the Russians know it and are now taking over old genuine good Capitalism. Please for your own sake forget about the “supposed” oil price disaster on Russia as the year of 2014 is winding down to its end. Oil prices will always yo-yo up and down, countries will adapt or die, boundaries between countries may fade or change but oil and coal will remain the main energy sources as long as this Globe and the Universe will be there, and that is forever; it was meant to be that way and Man cannot change that even if he tries. Drop the space exploration crap; man is earthbound and will have to find his salvation for soul and body on earth. The Universe will not change [it is too perfect to have to; just accept that].

You have always been a caring Nation, America. Stick to that [or go back and find where you went off the track; get back on it], protect you borders and your cities, get out of armed conflict in the rest of the World. Let the other countries do their share for a change.

Back to Africa with what as far as I know has never been published before.

By the year 1910 America’s only point of connection with Africa was in the slave trade of a few centuries past. Slavery is a moot point and will remain a sensitive one for years to come. There is an effort to rewrite the history on slavery but even in that the point of departure is deliberately obscured because it is a political issue. The truth is that there is no recorded evidence of how and by whom the slave got down to the North East Coast of Africa to board the ships for America and some other countries. Only one point is certain [but that is not mentioned] and that is that the slaves were not captured by white men. African Americans and African Slave descendants in other countries will have to come to terms with this basic truth or just fume around the mouth and continue to make as much noise as they can, all to no avail.

The other point that ‘Westerners” and others don’t seem to understand is that Africa, though one contiguous continent consists of two separate parts, distinctly different and almost two Worlds apart: firstly northernmost Africa, mostly Muslim but not to be confused with Islamic “Arabia” and, secondly the rest of Africa for the greatest part, what would be called Black Africa. Of the former Egypt should be mentioned, not to exclude the other few, merely as a point of reference to emphasize the distinction from Black Africa. Egypt is an old country; her history is intermingled with Israel; one can truly say that these two are the oldest countries in the World. America made a sad mistake and an utter hash of it under the Bama to side with the terrorist factions in ousting the previous Egyptian President in 2013. Egypt will remember that and I hope that they will forgive America; they will never forgive the Bama.

That said, let’s go to Africa, the part excluding Egypt and her family nations along the Mediterranean, and let it be for another post.

To be continued…..

Days Weeks Months Years final update 1910 to 1960

December 28, 2014

You have by now read:

 https://ikejakson.wordpress.com/2014/12/02/days-weeks-months-years-updated-1910-to-1960/

If not, do so first before you proceed with this Post. We find ourselves “in the first days” of the current half century 2010 to 2060 right now. You will soon see the pointers to that in the one you are reading now.

In order to follow my line I want to add a few important notes on 1910 to 1960. I could have done it in the previous Post but kept it out for now.

We could call that the era of mass production and war. The Industrial Revolution of way back when had started with mass production but on a limited scale, nothing compared to the mass production of armaments and transport [planes, ships and road vehicles] of the half decade 1910 to 1960 that we are discussing now. Much of this mass production was for the 2nd World War but enough was left over and they had not stopped the production when Korea offered the opportunity of another War where the stuff could be used for killing people so in rushed the Americans to use the stuff and to make some money out of it.

The final point, because 1960 was now right round the corner and Kennedy was waiting in the wings.

If there ever was a stupid and unnecessary War it was Korea. This little country hangs there like the bottom and legs of a man from the mainland of China on her left and Japan on her right with Russia sitting round the top of China What on earth did the Americans intend to achieve in that War with Korea?

History has since confirmed that though America had to take Japan out in the 2nd World War in their interests and the safety interests of the World, and though a brave and noble America added magnificently in other parts to end the War, it was the Russians, not America, that finally broke Hitler’s armies. America suddenly woke up to the fact that Russia was there and got a fright. The communist bogey man was created, and into the Korean War they jumped, way out of their territory and field of influence. It was really stupid.

All that America achieved in the years of the Korean War was that it made Douglass MacArthur a name to remember as a brilliant soldier and logistician, and from a strange almost quixotic overlap of letters that would lead to some confusion between the two in later years created McCarthyism [from a lousy politician] that would hand the White House to Kennedy in 1960 though by a very small margin.

My next Post in the series will cover 1960 to 2010, what was to become the half century of Mandela and to a smaller or lesser degree that of Africa.

Mandela had looked with anxious eyes at India getting independence in 1947, then turned red, blue and all other colors with fury when Ghana in 1957 snapped his chance to be the first in Africa because he, the great Mandela had always deemed that to be his sole prerogative.

Two Vodacom Frontline Employees receive the Jaksonian Institute Frontline Research Awards for 2014

December 26, 2014

In this, our first year announcing all the winners of the Jaksonian Research Institute Annual Awards for 2014 it is a good time to briefly explain the Frontline Research concept and I shall do so now.

In what Americans still call the Mom and Pop small businesses the owners manufacture the product, sell it to the customers and fix it when it doesn’t work well enough; the owners are the Frontline and the customer deals direct with them. So it is easy and many of these small stores grow into big ones; the salesman becomes the frontline and is the first one to know if the customer has a problem with the purchased item. The salesman trots of to the owner, they discuss the problem and fix it. The job is done and everyone is happy and contented.

That is not the case with the large corporations of modern times. Some employ so many directors, each with a horde of secretaries and assistants to protect him/her from the level of their incompetence and none of them ever goes near the customer or the frontline worker. The frontline worker doesn’t know any of the directors; they have no access to repairs and maintenance departments; thus they normally sit there and blush or fumble when an irate customer has a problem and eventually the customer trots off to another supplier.

Smart Corporations like Wal-Mart solved that problem. If you recently purchased a hair dryer and still have your purchase slip you trot up to the counter in the store where you bought the hair dryer or any other Wal-Mart Store you see while visiting your Uncle in another town and the hair dryer problem came up when you are at your uncle’s place. There is a person [man or lady] at every Wal-Mart Store for this purpose; just ask and somebody will direct you to that person.

That person will have a smile on the face and you don’t have to be trembling in your shoes with a long story; he/she is most likely to interrupt you with “Do you still have your slip, Sir/Madam. OK leave that with me here, yes, I keep the item you brought in and you go get you a new one. You know where to find it?” If you say that you don’t know where, he/she will conjure up and assistant who will be told to just help this customer to get a new item like this one and anything else that he/she may need today.”

When you get back to counter with the friendly individual with the smile he will say, “Now OK Sir/Madam, no need to pay anything on the new hairdryer, just let me ring the new items that I see you bought today. Thank you for shopping with Wal-Mart.   Come back soon, anytime you want. Have a good day, Sir/Madam.”

But that is the quality of Wal-Mart that made them the largest retailer in America; it requires a rare though common sense of managerial skills that is sadly absent from big business today.

I was about to hand Vodacom SA the “Rubber spoon with a hole in it” Award for 2014 when I remembered and scratched through old records of the year and found my winners. They get the “Rare Precious Gems” Award for the year.

Veruschka Jarvis De Nobrega picked me up after weeks on 082155; she had seen the problem with an interim contract “migration”, took hold of it, solved it there and then, AND THEN, out of her own sent me a short clear email with her full names and her Department at the bottom. I so wish Vodacom will put her in charge of a task force to train all Vodacom workers in the art of email replies.

The second Vodacom “Rare Precious Gems” award goes to Morne Speelman of the Vodashop in Tyger Valley Durbanville branch.

After months of battling with a modem, and my Laptop by then messed up so much that I have no modem on it now by the imbecilic incompetent staff in the Weskus Mall Vredenburg Vodashop I packed both my computers and the cellphone in the car of a friend who drove me into Tyger Valley.

Morne Speelman took over. He is a quiet man; it was obvious that it was a busy store but it was well designed; customers sat on comfortable lounge chairs at comfortable “coffee tables” designed for this purpose with electric points for a number of appliances under the table; under pressure Morne remained calm, tapped here and there, asked me to test, then another few taps, asked me to test again, smiled at me and all my things were fixed, “no charge Sir, just the normal SIM card swap fee for the phone”, and I have not had a problem since.

He didn’t have to write me an email because he had done the job, with a smile and thanked me for supporting Vodacom.

Give these young people a hand. Vodacom, look after them or you will get it from me.

Christmas 2014 and I and You

December 25, 2014

It is now 04:44:45 AM as I sit on my keyboard. Dawn will be out in about one hour where I live.

I have been up a few times during the night but the idea to do this got me out of bed.

It will be my 75th Christmas but I can’t remember anything about the first one in 1940 because I was only a few months old at the time; in fact I now realize that I cannot remember anything about my birth.

My awareness of life started with my 6th Christmas and I remember many vividly though there is a faded era of them in my twenties; why this is so I don’t know.

Anyway, all of them since I retired [the 14th one today] stand out in my memories; this is the 6th one that I am the oldest male survivor in two generations of the clan. It is also the third one on which I will be the oldest one in longevity of males in the clan. Please note that I am not the leader of the clan; that honor belongs to the son of our first brother. It was unanimous in the clan because his father had been the undisputed leader or the clan. We still inherit these things in the life I was born into and lived.

Between my 55th and 60th Christmases I had a lot of dealings with retiring people because that was the business I was in but I had not yet developed any prolonged relationships with retired people; the past 14 years that’s about the only relationships I have developed because most of us in the small town where I reside are retired.

I have come to realize that money doesn’t mean much to me. When I retired one million was an enormous fortune of money in a retirement package; mine wasn’t anywhere near that. I have survived and must admit that I find the current Media obsession with money slightly offensive.

I want to be happy today and walk about town just shaking hands with every person I shall come across. It is a good life.

I have learned to pray again the past few years and will remember a few names I shall refer to when praying today. If anyone who knows me would like to remember my name when you pray, I know that Someone will be listening.

The year ahead will be a tough one for the World. It will be a Year to Remember for many; some hard decisions will have to be made by Mankind. I am only mentioning that in passing; today it must wait for when it comes.

Dawn has just arrived; at 05:23:11 AM on the computer clock.

Have a wonderful Christmas 2014.

Jaksonian Institute Frontline Research Awards for 2014

December 18, 2014

Winners for 2014 in the categories for the Jaksonian Research Institute’s Global Country and Country Leadership Awards

This is the first year that we will actually publish the Awards; with so many awards and all the hue and cry from institutions and others about their Awards, from Nobel to the ridiculous to the bizarre we have so far avoided the fray because we did not want what we regard as the most important and the only valid research method to be tainted by the horse and pony shows of others in the Award Field.

Frontline Research differs from other methods; we shall tell you more about that as we go along because we want to get all the announcements out before Dec 25th and there will be quite a few.

There will be a number of categories and our first year of actually publishing our Awards will kick off with the Country and Country Leader Awards for 2014.

The field wasn’t crowded this year but it was still difficult to be fair; we considered issuing more than one because we had many qualifiers for many categories from excellence to pathetic.

In the end we decided that three Countries were so close, though each also merited special mentioning and maybe the outright winner but it was still close. So we decided to be fair.

For 2014, dear Reader, the Jaksonian Country Award for Excellence, which we have decided to name the Global Award will be shared by:

Australia for their handling of the Hostage affair,

Russia for their handling of the Oil Price debacle,

China maybe could have made it to first place alone: she didn’t have the problems of the other two but her handling of Africa had put her in the lead on that score and hence sharing the overall Award is our view the fairest to all three.

Give them all a big hand.

At the same time we announce the Atlas Award for Excellence in Country Leadership.

It was again down to the same three countries that get to share the Global Country Award. Again it was difficult because each country has its own way of electing their leader. The three could have shared but one had a little edge. The Australian candidate is relatively new in the field; the great leader of China is in his certain greatness of mind and intellect also a modest man and won’t mind we are sure, if we say that Vladimir Putin had the edge for the occasion. A quiet man, making no noise, doing things are his strength, dear Readers I hand you the man deserving the Jaksonian Research Institute’s Atlas Award as Country Leader of the World for 2014 with runners up the Presidents of China and Australia.

Watch this space in the next week.

Velocity Trade Fraudsters seem to have a Death Wish

December 2, 2014

Open letter to Velocity Trade Toronto Canada

Fraudsters like Velocity Trade from Canada and other foreign soils should take note of this Fin24 Article:

 http://www.fin24.com/Companies/Financial-Services/FSB-cheers-jail-term-for-Fidentias-Brown-20141201

Our country became a natural Mecca for every crook and gangster in Finance that descended in waves like flies for the bounty in our land ever since our doors were thrown open to the World 20 years ago.

The impression still exists with many that it is all the fault of the current government regime and that they are the only recipients of the largesse.

No Sir that was indeed not the case when it started. Yes, the incoming regime made it possible but white business gleefully accepted and actively took the lead in the opportunities offered to them. All the young snot-nosed so-called financial wizards from the English speaking Nations of the World have since settled here and our gullible public, our pension funds and the uninformed are being bled dry.

Our new Courts were in disarray and for a while crime became the highest paying business to be in. Our Financial Regulators [mainly the Financial Services Board, FSB for short] have had an uphill battle but finally had reason to smile just yesterday.

The High Court of Appeal overturned a previous lenient High Court sentence of a rather small fine and imposed a stiff 15 years behind bars for the culprit; the FSB investigators are smiling. This is what they said afterwards:

“This is a great day for South Africa’s justice system and for our citizens. It shows that no matter who you are, if you break the law, you will be prosecuted – and sentenced appropriately.”

Fraudsters in unregulated business like Velocity Trade CFD derivatives, Illegal Forex Trading and other Ponzi Schemes will, we all hope soon find out what it’s like inside a South African jail.

If you have had any adverse dealings with Velocity Trade feel free to copy this and/or email me. If you still have money with them ask for a Summary Statement and look for Swap Fee debits.

My follow-up Post will deal with how they manage to steal your capital without you knowing.

Days Weeks Months Years updated 1910 to 1960

December 2, 2014

Well, you have read:

https://ikejakson.wordpress.com/2014/11/26/days-weeks-months-years-and-centuries-of-time-and-events/

I am now going to deal with half centuries from here on; the speed or change in the World started accelerating in 1910 and it looks certain to continue for the rest of the half century 2010 to 2060.

England started 1910 by merging her two new colonies [Free State in the mid-centre and Transvaal in the north, both won during the Anglo-Boer War into a single South Africa with self-government under the British Crown and part of the British Commonwealth, thus also completing her Colonial quest in Africa.

Do not ever underestimate the importance of this small event in the subsequent history of the World. It would become the hinge on which the entire next two half centuries would evolve.

Please also bear in mind that the Anglo Boer War was for one reason only; to get hold of the gold, the diamonds and the rest of the mineral wealth of the newly combined Colony. A last point of interest to remember on this point is that, for all the lofty speeches and the beautiful words in the American Declaration of Independence just over a century before that, the American War of Independence was a War for Independence in Trade. It had nothing to do with Freedom of All Men being born equal; it was fought for economic freedom, direct trade no longer via the Motherland, and financial independence. The French and others helped for the same reasons to defeat England in the final American War of Independence.

The above said and done when 1912 arrived; Taft preferred to be a judge and stepped out of the American Presidency to make place for Woodrow Wilson who after a brief hesitation got in and won the War against the Germans.

In the interim a few things of not much consequence at the time occurred but would become extremely important later, note and write it down for the future.

The first three actually happened in the half century ending 1910:

Adolf Hitler was born April 20th, 1889

Nikita Khrushchev was born April 15th 1895.

Hendrik F Verwoerd was born September 8th, 1901

The second five took place in the half century now under discussion:

Ronald Reagan was born February 06th 1911.

John F Kennedy was born May 29th 1917

Nelson Mandela was born July 18th of 1918

ML King, Jr. was born January 15th 1929

Desmond Tutu was born October 07th 1931

Now I am going to be brief with a short synopses of the two half centuries from 1910 to 2010 and get to the important details in two separate updates to enable the student to view the period 1860 to 2010 as an entity during which much [if nor all] that happened in this time would determine the course that the World is now set on and likely to stay on only to ultimately derail somewhere before 2060 and go back to 1760.

The periods up to 1960 can now be called history; efforts are taking place to re-write that history; these efforts will fail.

Kennedy and MLK would play pivotal roles in America but don’t ever ignore the roles of the South Africans mentioned. Much of America’s role 1960 to 2010 would in the end determine what would happen to South Africa during the same period. Conversely, if you want to call it that, America 2010 to 2060 will be determined by South 1960 to 2010.

Don’t laugh or panic. You have just had Ferguson MO. We had Sharpeville 1960 that set the scene for you. Remember though that Sharpeville has not ended yet; neither has Ferguson. That name will reverberate and haunt you for many decades to come.

I shall tell you all about it in the next update to the series.
