Who knows? Who will ever know? But there is a sadness over the land tonight.

I presume there is a difference between R and R1, otherwise the article seems daft. My father once gave me a batch of coins from his travels. Two of them were from Brazil during a time of currency fluctuation. One was a Cruzero and one a Rio. When they changed over you had to turn over a hundred or a thousand (I forget which) in order to get one of the new, improved version.

The Post was about daftness in an era of extreme daftness; the African is longing back for old Africa in the days when it was heaven on earth [which is daft] and now believes, or is made to believe that they will all be Kings and live in the lap of luxury by tearing down statues of stone and plaster.
