Going Blind Getting Old and going Home

April 16, 2017

This story may be a long one by the time I am trough with it but the Idea behind it and the scope of the overall Vision [yes, that would be the relevant description now] hit me in one single flash, much like a bolt of lightning that rips the skies but lasts only seconds, though the one in the mind covers the entire life of one person and stretches over all eternity of life past and still to be.

I will record more of it in WordPress for posterity so this is merely the gist of it, and I am looking for thoughts, comments, criticism and other viewpoints.

The bolt of lightning made me realize how blind and insensitive I had been when I had two good eyes to the plight of those with infirmities for whom public awareness started to erect walking ramps on corner street pavements and entrances into public buildings.

I am at present bumping heads with a petty witch practicing as an attorney to a crooked business man and was surprised that she started using it as a weapon against me when I informed her of my eye impediment.  I have always had little patience with vicious people and, giving her a quick measure went for her jugular; must add I was very rude to her and knew that I was risking a lot but I ripped into her in a Court Document.

She complained like a stuffed pig but I was pleased to notice that the Magistrate didn’t say a word about it in his judgement and ignored her as if she wasn’t there.

Just yesterday I was about to pass an old guy with a walking stick in the street when I realized something had changed in me and I slowed down to get into step with him.   At the next street crossing I realized he was watching my feet as well as his and that he smiled.

I knew he understood and for a moment I was flooded with emotion.

Just for the record.  I was born in Small Town South Africa in 1940; went to work in Cape Town 1959 to 1965; transferred to Johannesburg 1965; ended up in Centurion [then a separate city to Pretoria] in 1971 and retired from there in 2001 to Small Town South Africa where I settled in the vicinity of a small Dorp called Piketberg in the area of my birth end of 2002 about 160 miles North of Cape Town.

Piketberg turned out to be one big fuck-up and probably the “kakste” town in the land, the Horse Poo Capital of the World, and I have just decided to get out as soon as I can settle all my things and move back to Centurion by latest early next year.

Small Town South Africa of our childhood days has gone; it is no more.

Watch this Space.  There is a surprise reason for it somewhere and I am grappling with the facts to pin it down.
