4 All Old Folks around the Globe Part 9 about a Fast Forward to the Past in order to get to the Future in Part 10

May 23, 2018

Something that happened a few days ago made me think of an old Saint in South African Politics; in a way it’s the story my old Blogging Buddy Cheech of Iowa once told about the Bishop who was asked to call the Bama a Saint.  Cheech, where RU?  Come in now and share your wisdom with all of us.

Well, it reminded me about old Saint Langenhoven and his story about donkeys.  I ran it in Facebook and it is a must read if you ever want to get to grips with Africa.

 ad it now:

 https://web.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=406410803174077&id=100014154821462&comment_id=406751016473389&notif_id=1526922310783607&notif_t=feedback_reaction_generic

Having had a career in Statistical Analysis I can tell you by reading the Headline of a Facebook Post what numbers of likely comments can be expected.

In this case getting two was a surprise, but I did expect at least one.

Part 10 is in preparation, in which we will get to Africa and I shall mention the name of Julius Malema in that.  Go ahead and Google that name; take some time on it and get yourself acquainted with a future President of South Africa, by the way highly likely to be renamed to become Azania in the not too distant future.

For the information of my regular WordPress readers, I am Part of the Half of FaceBook readers that are not Donkeys.

4 All Old Folks around the Globe Part 4 on the Truth of why the World is in the mess that we are in today

April 26, 2018

We are celebrating Independence Day in South Africa today, the 24th year since that Great Day on 27th April of 1994.

I beg of my Readers to allow me to explain; once and for all.

I am a follower and admirer of Freud on the influence of the environment in the formation of character.  In science I believe in gravity and never understood that some silly asshole had to stand under a tree with an apple falling on his head to prove the Law of Gravity; that apple was never going to fall anywhere else in the first place.  In matters of Economics I still believe in the Adam Smith analysis of Supply and Demand economics.I do not believe that Wars solve anything; the only War that ever served any purpose was when the American colonists kicked the English in the ass to become the first Nation ever to kick Mother England in the ass; the only problem was that it allowed England to proceed and set them free to exploit their positions for power in Africa and India.  There is a lot in written records about their efforts to Anglicize Africa; the pity is that nobody stood up against them.  The greatest pity is that America [where they had kicked all the “Royalists’ in the ass and confiscated their American property without any “compensation” after the 1812 War of Independence stepped forward in World Wars One and Two to save England from Germany and subsequently allowed them to grab ownership of South Africa’s mineral riches.

At that time the rest of Africa except Egypt and the northern part of the Continent had been invaded by the English [then the leading seafaring nation] but assisted by Portugal, Belgium, Italy et al, each one grabbing any slice that they liked.

By the time that England forced South Africa to form a Union of South Africa under the flag of England [very conveniently excluding the original populations of the land] and only allowing participation of the colonists, at that time a mix of English, French, Hollanders and somehow enough foreign religions to call them all a “Christian Nation” and as such they were obliged to rush to the defense of England in World Wars One and Two against Germany.  I got to admit that I would not have liked being Part of a “Greater Germany” during World War Two but I wasn’t born yet; must have been conceived by Mom and Dad just about the same day that England Declared War on Germany in 1939 because I saw the light of my first day on August 3rd 1940.  Mom told me in later years that it was on a Saturday.

However, Russia saved us from that potential disaster by defeating Germany and mercilessly hunted the remnants of the invading German armies down following their defeat in the fight for Moscow and saved England in the process.  Let us get this point clear once and for all. One: “Russia won World War Two”; it was not America that won it.  That America saved England is a fabrication of very tiny minds.

Two: “Were it not for Russia, and for China that stayed out of the silly war, the World of today would have been a different and a much better place” to live in.

America should thank their lucky stars for that and I shall deal with the South African situation in Part 5 in due course.

My Brother Dirk saaka Oom Dirkie or just plain Oom Dirk

March 20, 2018

He was a man in ten millions of people.

I miss him something awful; our lives changed the day he crossed the river in August of 1909; these past nine years have been lonely without him.  Today he would have been 80 and at 78 to be soon I couldn’t fill his shoes.  He walked tall, talked little and while we never had a Patriarch in the Clan after our maternal Grandpaw crossed over at age 88 in the year of 1965, he, Brother Dirk, filled that vacant space to become the undisputed leader of the Clan when he was barely 30 years old.

Few dared to speak out of place while he lived; he wouldn’t hurt a fly but he also did not take kindly to bad manners or small minds.

He had a presence wherever he went.

We still miss you my Brother and we are all in touch with you today; you will live forever in our hearts and minds.

Here is our picture a few months before the day our lives changed.  You can guess who I am and who he was.  The third one is Boetie and his wife; she was my Sil, really my sister in fact since he joined Brother Dirkie in 2010.

[Subsequent insert:  Sorry to my readers, but I could not get the picture in here.  My system is frothing with hackers, but the funny part is that Ons Drie vroeg 2009.jpgthey think that they are scaring me.  Watch this space; right now I hope they will take the bait.  I know who they are and I shall handle them the way they deserve; don’t you now worry about me; this ole guy is no fool].  And I found the picture!

I have things to do, you two; you are part of it.  I must finish some matters but look forward to seeing you and Mom and Dad when I have served out all my duties.

You lived for duty, beloved Brother.  I can never match you in that but I am doing my best.

Evolution and Demise of the Manifest Destiny of Mankind Part Two

February 23, 2018

You have read Part One I assume; if not you have to read it here first.  It will enable you to find the analogy.

Part Two that you are now reading is not the oft mentioned “missing link” in the silly story of Evolution.  It is the natural result that will inevitably follow unless Mankind can sort his life out and get back to sanity before he destroys his last chance to survive as Specie.

To understand the risk we have to consider the natural development of Nature and the other Species.

The Earth is all we have and Nature has found a way to cope with Change and the greed of Man.  You see it in weather patterns or climate change as we started calling it recently when we had to admit that the “hole in the ozone” scare was a lot of bunkum.  Climate change is as permanent as the earth and will continue to adjust as we try harder to destroy it all in the pursuit of what has come to be called wealth but it will accelerate to cope with our excesses.

Our rivers, the seas and oceans have adapted but we have not.  I have a notion that Nature will care about some of that soon with a few of these luxury new floating hotels that are now entering the oceans, simply by sinking them like Titanic’s in a row one after the other, and I won’t shed one tear.  The oceans are for fish and the creatures of the seas and are not the domain of Mankind; we have to cease that abuse.  They will revolt if we don’t voluntarily leave them to do what only they can do best.

Mankind manifest Destiny was first mentioned by some mad American [go read it up] as the destiny of America to rule from the Atlantic to the Pacific; so the madness to grab came about.  Then they didn’t know what to do with it and greed took control.

Will a massive War provide the answer, or will starvation of the poor do it?  I don’t know how we can avoid either but therein is no answer.

I am sure Nature will do it.  There is nothing in Space; any oxygen or hydrogen; so that is no answer either.  Yes, I have heard that some lunatics are talking about a huge pipeline to deliver rivers of fresh clean water from Planet Mars to Planet Earth but that is just another warped mind for the fools that will pay for it.

Wait for Part 3.

A Tribute to Julius Malema as a future President of South Africa

February 10, 2018

There are many sources and theories on this day in history when Brutus arrived at his meeting with the Caesar.

 The Caesar asked:

 “Et Tu, Brutus …?”

The one I like best was [from Brutus in reply]:

“I have not come to praise thee, Oh Caesar … I ave come to kill and bury thee.”

Of all those who aspire to greatness in Africa and the rich White and Black, young Julius Malema, born as the son of a Domestic Worker on 3rd March 1981 is the only one with the guts to tell present incumbent Jacob Zuma “You gotta pay back that money.”

 Go well, Julius.

Malema has broken free from old politics to tell his own people what the real problem is.

Watch out for my follow up on this Post.

I am One of We the People; Yes, I am One of We the People

August 30, 2017

From this day on I aim to be One and I intend to stand firm and will not budge.

We have a Constitution and I shall obey and honor that but I shall demand that others in business or politics do the same where it affects me or those that are dear to me.

Join me and let us discuss our Constitution and our rights and duties; we cannot have the rights without the implicit duties to grant the other one the same rights in terms of our Constitution in everything in our daily lives.

Going Blind Getting Old and going Home

April 16, 2017

This story may be a long one by the time I am trough with it but the Idea behind it and the scope of the overall Vision [yes, that would be the relevant description now] hit me in one single flash, much like a bolt of lightning that rips the skies but lasts only seconds, though the one in the mind covers the entire life of one person and stretches over all eternity of life past and still to be.

I will record more of it in WordPress for posterity so this is merely the gist of it, and I am looking for thoughts, comments, criticism and other viewpoints.

The bolt of lightning made me realize how blind and insensitive I had been when I had two good eyes to the plight of those with infirmities for whom public awareness started to erect walking ramps on corner street pavements and entrances into public buildings.

I am at present bumping heads with a petty witch practicing as an attorney to a crooked business man and was surprised that she started using it as a weapon against me when I informed her of my eye impediment.  I have always had little patience with vicious people and, giving her a quick measure went for her jugular; must add I was very rude to her and knew that I was risking a lot but I ripped into her in a Court Document.

She complained like a stuffed pig but I was pleased to notice that the Magistrate didn’t say a word about it in his judgement and ignored her as if she wasn’t there.

Just yesterday I was about to pass an old guy with a walking stick in the street when I realized something had changed in me and I slowed down to get into step with him.   At the next street crossing I realized he was watching my feet as well as his and that he smiled.

I knew he understood and for a moment I was flooded with emotion.

Just for the record.  I was born in Small Town South Africa in 1940; went to work in Cape Town 1959 to 1965; transferred to Johannesburg 1965; ended up in Centurion [then a separate city to Pretoria] in 1971 and retired from there in 2001 to Small Town South Africa where I settled in the vicinity of a small Dorp called Piketberg in the area of my birth end of 2002 about 160 miles North of Cape Town.

Piketberg turned out to be one big fuck-up and probably the “kakste” town in the land, the Horse Poo Capital of the World, and I have just decided to get out as soon as I can settle all my things and move back to Centurion by latest early next year.

Small Town South Africa of our childhood days has gone; it is no more.

Watch this Space.  There is a surprise reason for it somewhere and I am grappling with the facts to pin it down.

The three Great Presidents of the World must meet

February 2, 2017

I ran the first part of this as an Open Note in Face Book just a few days back:

“Can an Old Sefriken Guy call for a meeting between the three Great Presidents of the World, names in alphabetical order, Jinping, Putin and Trump?

Yes, it is my view that they should meet as soon as possible.

Preferable they should do so on neutral ground, like say, Iceland where two others previously met.

They should meet as full equals and all arrive with their spouses First Ladies and hands of friendship extended. There should be no conditions, demands or threats, just sitting down over a few drinks and become friends.

I reckon that is what the World needs today.”

It received some attention but not nearly the serious discussions I had hoped for.  Perhaps I was vain.

But this is a first for the entire World, having three Adult Men as Presidents in the three largest Independent Sovereign States in the World.

We are moving through a phase of transition in the ever moving Cycles and Circles of History and World Events.  The present Cycle could be crucial to guide us for what must come if we don’t adjust to the Times.

We simply have to get these Men together to form a Team.  I have high hopes and will return with some thoughts from the position at the Southern tip of Africa where I sit as a Sefriken.

Merry Christmas 2016

December 18, 2016

Just 7 Suns from today will get us to Xmas morning 2016 and I shall start early this year because it will be my seventh one of Grace.  I hope for many more and my personal medical attendant says he cannot find any reason why I should not reach the ton; on my side I don’t want to rob anyone else going for it and thus as a human who has had his fair share:

Merry Christmas to all of you who contributed to another one for me and my cousin and Uncle Oom Wennie in my absence from Facebook.

Thank you Folks.  We have family in Oz, Paraguay, Netherlands, Ye olde country England, and quite a number with Uncle Sam.  Thank you all.

Let us remember the good things and the Blessings of our Lord God and Creator during 2016.

The year 2017 will be another year to deal with; for now it can wait.  I love you and yours for 2016.  Enjoy.

Merry Christmas 2016.

The Jury Verdict on Nelson Mandela has just been announced in South Africa.

December 9, 2016

Well Guys, we all know the verdict on the Media by now; we don’t count in their eyes no matter what and I don’t see any possibility for change except to curtail or even eliminate Freedom of the Media drastically.  The original concept of Freedom of the Press, and that’s all, may do it but I am afraid the damage has been done.

When I mooted the Media Test for all of you on December 1st in Facebook and suggested 8 days I knew the results that I expected.  The extra day since then merely confirmed the Result.

On February 10th in the year 1990 a man walked from prison after 27 years, illegally and disgracefully detained according to the Media; some reported it as illegal incarceration of an innocent man.

He died three years ago on December 5th 2016.   I watched a substantial part of the Media from December 1st until yesterday.  It is almost another 27 years sine 1990 and, surely I thought, a few people would remember him.

Nobody did; the Ego died.  I did not see anyone referring to the hoopla of 1990 or his demise into obscurity over the past three years; so much for Media Power?  The Jury Verdict sums it up so well in utter silence:  He was yesterday’s Icon and Hero; may he rest in his own place of Destiny wherever that may be.

Let us carry on with our Lives.
