4 All Old Folks around the Globe Part 7 on dates and times on the Journey of Life

May 15, 2018

I have written on Life as a Journey:

https://ikejakson.wordpress.com/2009/09/25/life-is-a-journey/

on Cycles and Circles on time in History of our Journey:

https://ikejakson.wordpress.com/2009/04/06/cycles-andor-circles-in-the-affairs-of-nations-and-countries/

And last for today, have a final look at:

https://ikejakson.wordpress.com/2016/02/28/things-and-time-get-better-with-age/

So, really, when are we ever old enough to be classified as Old?  When our daughter was in her mid thirties she did not understand that I called that the adolescent period with Adulthood starting at 40 …

On her 39th birthday I wrote:

https://ikejakson.wordpress.com/2013/05/30/a-look-at-age-39-on-the-journey-of-life/

…. and I left it at that but on her 40th birthday I wrote her:

https://ikejakson.wordpress.com/2014/05/30/40-today/

to welcome her to adulthood to which she replied [and her reply told me she had made it and was quite safe then] well, she replied with a “it feels good this side of 40” and peaked early in life after that so that she is now strong, independent, self-reliant, and beautiful at 44.  She is a brick in the BHS though that has virtually collapsed in recent years and, I am sure of it, she will be one of the few that can really help to pull it out of the doldrums.

So, when are we going to be old then, some will ask.  My advice is that you get through your golden years from 50 to 60; at that point you are young and beautiful and all you need is to mature gracefully.

So we come to the end of the line … and I will close this off with that; with just more than two months to get to 78 I look around me and see older folks of 85 and some close to 90 but most of my compatriots have gone ahead and I know of not one who tried to resist their time and neither will I when mine comes around.

I have lived and loved it; most were days of joy but some were sorrows though very few of the latter.

Go well, my friends.

4 All Old Folks around the Globe Part 6 on Africa Then and Now

April 30, 2018

This is just an Interlude; read Parts One to 5 before you continue with this one.

The World is an old Place; very little is known about the origins and when it came about and I am not going to go into that.  Modern Science and Archaeology are mere speculation about the matter.

All that is documented is from Israel and Egypt; somehow they seem to have been there first and strong bonds still exist between the two countries.

That enables me to draw some sort of a distinction between the Continents of Africa and Europe, but [and a large But, that is], Egypt is there right at the top of the eastern side of Africa and Israel is smack in the middle of what was once referred to as Arabia.  Nobody knows about Russia or China; the so-called West never bothered to find out and these two giants were not ever in the past in the habit of parading around the Globe to announce their virtues.

To me sufficient evidence exist with substantial evidence that the first civilization came about in these four Countries; then Greece followed with the first and to me still the finest, “schools” of philosophy.

Italy remains a mystery; whatever and how they managed to grab control of early Christianity and keep it in Rome remains a mystery.  After all is said and done Italy like all other European countries were inhabited by wandering tribes that kept on the move to whichever place provided shelter and food; when the latter was depleted the migrants moved on, as indeed was the case around the Globe for all we know.

Just one thing remains for this Part.  Somehow the old Italian Monks started making the finest dry White wines in the World; try Est. Est. if you don’t want to take my word for it; on the other hand Portugal found the way to make the best “green wines” from “green grapes” ever and nobody has ever come close to copy their Casal Garcia and Aveleda de Blanca.  Chilli in South America makes some fine ones but the Porra has the secret to it.  I do believe it is because they still in this age chuck the grapes in the old foot vats and the entire family takes part in the ritual; maybe I shall move to Portugal one day.

England at that time; the noble Knights of the Round Table; nobility of any kind?  My foot; they were a barbaric bunch until barely 100 years ago today.  It came as no surprise to me when Old Jomo started ridding Kenya of the curse in 1960.

Part 7 to follow soon; the Continent of Africa deserves a special Part to do it justice.

4 All Old Folks around the Globe Part 5 on the Dawn of the Day that we call Today in the year of 2018

April 30, 2018

Monday, April 30, 2018

I do try to avoid discussion of religion[s] in my work to avoid the accusations and arguments that go with it.  People must in my view respect the religion or the Faith of their neighbors [in this sense the entire World is one neighborhood] if they want the respect of the neighbor for their Faith.  Period.

Let me complete that [what I have said before] to me:

Creator=God=Allah=Yahweh=Jehovah=Allah=God=Creator.

Anyone may add other names [depending only upon where each one was born and grew up.

I demand respect for the religion of my neighbor and if that is not there I walk away from the discussion.  Period.

I therefore ask my Readers to allow me to use the Biblical reference to the Creation just this once.  In the World of this night of Sunday April 29th in the year of 2018 according to the Gregorian calendar our Creator is resting.  In the morning We the People will wake up to the eighth Day; we will have to decide what to do about it.

The way I see it [as in Parts One to Part 4 of this series] we need to refer to just a few events of late afternoon and evening of the 7th day.

In 1793/94 the French cut the heads off the Aristocrats and freed the people; the free French joined up with the American Colonists in 1812 to kick England in the ass and that helped to destroy England’s chances of Ruling the Waves forever, so they went on to conquer Africa.  Following that America fought a brutal “War of the States” [don’t you dare going around America of today and call it The Civil War; you are likely to be punched on the nose by many] and in the period that followed the American Colonists invaded the lands previously inhabited by independent peoples of many other natural pursuations; that set England free to conquer Southern Africa where they did the same thing as the American Colonists were doing in their parts of the World.

I shall come to War and Wars in Part 6; suffices for this Part to sum it up with.  The Spaniard had ended his invasion of the World; Portugal had their small pieces; the French had Canada and decided that was enough; in Africa the Netherlanders moved North while the American Colonists went on their “Manifest Destiny” to rule from the Atlantic to the Pacific [Lordy, Lordy, late afternoon on the 7th Day they would help the Dutch invaders [by now starting to call themselves Afrikaners which was a handy word to use instead of the English word African, which of course, they were not, but anyway, doing what the American Colonists were doing in America, which happened to be the same that England [having lost their Rule of the Waves, were doing in the lower central Parts of Africa] namely to invade and grab the lands of the people who just happened to have been born there.

America had decided to aid the “Afrikaners” for a short while purely because of the American dislike for Cuba but when Americans discovered the fine cigars that the Cubans were making they dumped the Afrikaner in Angola [at that time still run by Portugal].

Then, all of a sudden Americans, English, French [only half of the latter] realized Germany was becoming a threat and we had World War One.

That brings us to the World almost exactly 100 years ago late afternoon on the 7th day.

Part 6 will deal with the evening shadows and my hopes for the eighth day.

4 All Old Folks around the Globe Part 4 on the Truth of why the World is in the mess that we are in today

April 26, 2018

We are celebrating Independence Day in South Africa today, the 24th year since that Great Day on 27th April of 1994.

I beg of my Readers to allow me to explain; once and for all.

I am a follower and admirer of Freud on the influence of the environment in the formation of character.  In science I believe in gravity and never understood that some silly asshole had to stand under a tree with an apple falling on his head to prove the Law of Gravity; that apple was never going to fall anywhere else in the first place.  In matters of Economics I still believe in the Adam Smith analysis of Supply and Demand economics.I do not believe that Wars solve anything; the only War that ever served any purpose was when the American colonists kicked the English in the ass to become the first Nation ever to kick Mother England in the ass; the only problem was that it allowed England to proceed and set them free to exploit their positions for power in Africa and India.  There is a lot in written records about their efforts to Anglicize Africa; the pity is that nobody stood up against them.  The greatest pity is that America [where they had kicked all the “Royalists’ in the ass and confiscated their American property without any “compensation” after the 1812 War of Independence stepped forward in World Wars One and Two to save England from Germany and subsequently allowed them to grab ownership of South Africa’s mineral riches.

At that time the rest of Africa except Egypt and the northern part of the Continent had been invaded by the English [then the leading seafaring nation] but assisted by Portugal, Belgium, Italy et al, each one grabbing any slice that they liked.

By the time that England forced South Africa to form a Union of South Africa under the flag of England [very conveniently excluding the original populations of the land] and only allowing participation of the colonists, at that time a mix of English, French, Hollanders and somehow enough foreign religions to call them all a “Christian Nation” and as such they were obliged to rush to the defense of England in World Wars One and Two against Germany.  I got to admit that I would not have liked being Part of a “Greater Germany” during World War Two but I wasn’t born yet; must have been conceived by Mom and Dad just about the same day that England Declared War on Germany in 1939 because I saw the light of my first day on August 3rd 1940.  Mom told me in later years that it was on a Saturday.

However, Russia saved us from that potential disaster by defeating Germany and mercilessly hunted the remnants of the invading German armies down following their defeat in the fight for Moscow and saved England in the process.  Let us get this point clear once and for all. One: “Russia won World War Two”; it was not America that won it.  That America saved England is a fabrication of very tiny minds.

Two: “Were it not for Russia, and for China that stayed out of the silly war, the World of today would have been a different and a much better place” to live in.

America should thank their lucky stars for that and I shall deal with the South African situation in Part 5 in due course.

Why and who is closing SASSA Bank in SA?

January 28, 2018

A letter circulated by Piketberg Municipality just before this weekend informed the poor that SASSA Bank is about to be closed.  I can only suppose it has happened elsewhere too because Municipal Authorities are responsible for the identification of and records of recipients of grants

It is with a little wry humor that I noted the date on the letter was 7th December 2017 but only reached our town on Friday 26th January to inform SASSA grant recipients that unless they supply details of their banking accounts where future SASSA grants can be deposited they will no longer receive their grants.  Don’t they understand that a SASSA recipient cannot afford a banking account, even if there was a bank in town, which is not the case in hundreds of small communities in small towns all across the country?

We can talk about this for months but everyone knows who is behind this.

JULIUS MALEMA, THIS IS YOUR TIME.  SPEAK OUT, RAISE HELL, LET THEM HAVE IT BETWEEN THE EYES; YOU WILL FIND ME RIGHT NEXT TO YOU.

Of Vodacom and Orwell 1984 to Animal Farm 2084

September 11, 2017

Much has been said about Big Brother of 1984 but the People never understood and still don’t because the Machine took over.

The People were given cell phones thus creating the massive fences surrounding the cities where all the People were herded in.  Big Brother said “OK, now you all have cell phones and should be happy.”

So, all the Animal species were set free; they graze and flourish, moving freely but gaze in wonder at these strange creatures behind the barbed wire fences.  There is no escape.

Vodacom got what they wanted; all animal life got their freedom to roam and multiply and the People have cell phones.

The Machine is in charge.  To understand this, read Steinbeck in Grapes of Wrath and follow that up with The Winter of our Discontent.

Thus we will get to 2084; life is great and everyone will have the choice of two cell phones for the parents; all the kiddies will have tablets and unlimited access to Cyber Space.

Reality?  What the heck do you want to talk about reality?  Virtual reality is so much easier; you have no responsibility and you do not have to think; the Machine does all the thinking for you.

Life has never been as good; why, oh me why did we wait so long to get here?

Hey, stop asking questions about poverty!  There will be no poor; press the cellphone button and the machine will bring you all the food you can eat.  Just think about what is going to be in the cinema tonight; press the button and you will have it.

We will all be equal and FREE AT LAST, courtesy of the Machine.

August 30, 2017

From this day on I aim to be One and I intend to stand firm and will not budge.

The Deceit and the Woes of White South Africa

July 31, 2017

America has been Front Page News in South Africa as you will all understand.  Well, I shall now reciprocate with things that never get into our Media.  Quite frankly I believe they are probably up to their necks in the “cover-up” of this sort of thing but I have decided to stick my neck out and publish it to assist a Friend.

It starts with his Email to an Attorney, name of Van Zyl on 21st July 2017

Re: Piketberg Civil Court Case 386/2009

 “Van Zyl

I find it distasteful to even write to you; you are a punk, but for what it is worth I shall do it once.

You are way out of line; the Constitution regulates all Laws and all People and Bodies of People involved in the Administration of the Law.

Your type doesn’t belong in the Law; you got stuck somewhere in early 1973 and obviously never got through 1996 in the dream World of White Afrikaner Privilege that will Rule again.

My submissions comply with the Constitution.  That revered Document is sacrosanct and is The Highest Law in the Land.

Seeing the crap that you are trying to catch an innocent man, as you did on 25th August 2009 to catch him unaware and for him to sign your Default order, I suggest that you do not use Elgar Julius again to do your dirty work for you.

You know as well as I do that Kennedy is running a Knock Shop scam and all you are trying to do is to keep him from appearing in Court.

Go on as you seem to want; but your time is up.  I shall take him down and you and Miss Prissy Devine with him.

Your type should be barred for Life from entering any Court Office, leave alone appearing for clients.

You are a misplaced arrogant Bastard and your days of hegemony, your bluffing of junior officials in administration of the Law in Magistrate Courts are gone forever from this land!

Go ahead and sue me, Punk.

He then followed the above up with this and sent it out widely to virtually everyone he could think of, to the South African Police, the Cape Legal Society and the Court in the town where the scumbag Attorneys have their Practice.

“PUBLIC NOTICE to whom it may concern

I, XXX XXXXXXXXX [Full Personal Information as per another Attachment hereto for whom it may concern] [hope my readers will understand that I don’t quote his name] hereby advise that I have no interest  whatsoever in Case 386/09 in the Piketberg  Civil Court Western Cape South Africa.

2

I am aware of the Case but I am not the person alluded to as Defendant in piles of paper junk mail by so-called professional Attorneys De Villiers van Zyl about an alleged claim by a local businessman of ill repute doing business under the name of Midas Motolek CC [for closed Corporation] from premises at 37 Die Trek Street, Piketberg, Western Cape, South Africa.

3

I once had work done with the business as mentioned and we had an argument about sloppy workmanship on my motor vehicles and I refused to pay for overcharging.

4

An effort was made to blackmail me which I defended; like the kind of business man he is the purported owner of the business, fellow going by the name of Andre Kennedy, managed to obtain a default summons the way crooked Attorneys do this sort of thing in our Country but I opposed that in Court where the Honourable Magistrate of the Court did not hesitate to overturn the default ruling previously signed by a clerk as they used to do these things in our Country; the so-called Claimant did not even turn up for the Court hearing.  That was on 25th August of the year 2009.

5.

In the intervening years I suffered a total collapse in my eye sight, and also my health on two occasions in 2011 and 2014 that made it impossible for me to take any remedial action, and there was no action at all, not one single word from Midas or their legal Council.

6.

In October 2016, following on routine inquiries and good work by the South African Police Services, Legal Council [see 2 above] for Midas sprang into action with a flurry of paper in the Civil Court, one worthless effort after the other.

7.

Typical of the kind of Attorneys that get involved in shady deals but have no experience of business practice, they have been flooding the Court with worthless paper but got names and addresses so thoroughly mixed up that no one can now decide who is the Claimant or the Defendant, but even worse, all this activity takes place between Attorneys [see 2 above] and admin clerks at the Court and every effort is made to keep it out of sight of the Magistrate of The Court, who is an Honorable Man of the highest calibre.

8

I am now taking this public to all whom it may concern.  In the course of the next few days I shall also convert this document into American English and publish it in WordPress and on FaceBook.

9

In the meantime, take note that I am not interested in pursuing this idiotic “Case” and want nothing further to do with it.

 10

I will ignore any further email to my address and will only act on instructions as ruled by the Most Honourable Magistrate of the Court and signed as well as stamped by him at his discretion.

 11

This mess has cost me my health and added to my eye and sight problems.  I must now take care of that.  I have nothing further to say as from the moment I press the Send button on the Computer to transmit the email under cover of which this will be an Attachment.”

This is Modern South African Society as practised by some.  I ask of my Readers that you don’t judge all of us by the same standards as practised by others of whom we indeed, but unfortunately have too many but at least their numbers are dwindling.

Wish him luck, will you guys?  Anybody who receives or read this may Reblog at will; there is no copyrights reserved.

The Natural Laws of Average and Majorities chapter One

May 21, 2017

The reader will soon see why this post is called chapter One.

 Try it:

If you Google “The Average Law” you will find:

Law of averages – Wikipedia

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_of_averages

The law of averages (which is not considered a valid mathematical rule or principle) is the belief that a particular outcome or event is inevitable or certain simply …

If you Google “The Law of Averages” you will find:

 https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/law%20of%20averages

 Definition of law of averages

  1. : the commonsense observation that probability influences everyday life so that over the long term the possible outcomes of a repeated event occur with specific frequencies.”

That is about all that is worth anything on Google on the matters of the Average Law or the Law of Average whichever you may choose to call it.  Do Google now and see what you come up with.

It was my good fortune to meet an old guy of my age in recent years with an interest in the Philosophy of History; we soon discovered points of agreement and other points of mutual interest in observation and interpretation of current and past events.  A bond developed out of that and the points on which we differed; that in turn lead to discussions on where we are in the World today and where we are going; where the World is going.

When we got to the basics we found that we were talking about what we have since decided to call “The Natural Laws of Average and Majorities” and that is what will form a book on the most astounding revelations of all the known sciences, peoples, countries, attitudes and humanity as compared with Nature.

He had spent a lifetime in research much like mine but he retained his faith in the survival of the species when he returned to rural life whereas I have more or less given up and recently decided to get “back to the City” as described in my two recent Posts One and Two right here.

We discussed that the other day and in some way or another [we had been talking of Natural Majorities] he said to me:

 “You know what?”

I said “no, please tell me.’

“If you want any clear idea simple, straight and most common proof of the value of current day communication it is in the fact that the vast majority of the public, or of humanity, that can read want to write and see their names in print.  That is why they are all on the Internet,” he said.

“And those that cannot read or write?” I asked.

 “They don’t count,” he replied.

 I was amazed.

“Which of the two groups is in the majority?” I asked.

To my amazement he replied: “Nobody knows the answer to that.”

Read Chapter Two when you see it.  We hope to publish it real soon.

Of Time and Illusions and Tall Tales of Time and of Where We Are In Time Today

October 31, 2016

Dedicated to my friend JP the Great El Campeador of Election 2008

A Story for JP

Hi JP, here it is as I once promised.  This Post has been with me for a long time and I have had more Headlines in mind than would fill ten pages.  In the end I decided to call it “My story for JP” to make it easy to find while I was developing it.  The Headline as it appears above I selected moments ago because it fits in with what I have to say.  The idea started of with:

My 76th Birthday Notes

In South Africa it is 8/2/2016 11:04:17 PM on my Computer clock right now as I have just drawn it from the keyboard.  I don’t know how to tell you why I am doing it but there is a reason.  I don’t do things without a reason, except when I sit down or lie down, which I do very often, to do absolutely nothing but to think.

I go to bed at sunset; doing that for years now, and wake up anytime during the night and work on the keyboard.  Eventually I go back to bed and get up again at sunrise.  Living on my own by choice I can do these things.

In a way, having woken up before 11 tonight, there is a subconscious reason; yes tonight it may be there because I am now as I tap the keyboard less than one hour from age 76.  Perhaps I shall take this up in a Post in my main WordPress Blog one day.  Oh yes, I shall do that; a thought has been going through my mind on and off lately to do a Post on “Days of my Life” or something like that, to highlight other events that occurred over a full year of my life and influenced, or guided or cautioned me about my journey of life and where I am going.

For now, having only forty minutes left of age 75 I will close this down and find a place to publish it.  If it is someone else’s birthday too tomorrow, Heppie Heppie we say in South Africa.  If someone else is also 76 at twelve, do send me a note.

For posterity the recorded date of birth of the Bama is given as August 4th 1961.  Wherever he was born we got to accept that the Bama was born, and the date is as good as any; he will be 55 years old on this day August 4th of 2016.

He is not done with America; don’t let him fool you.  Watch his last move the day before the next President moves into the White House to make it white again.

JP ole Friend, the foregoing stopped there, but I continued to collect and compile stuff that is needed to synchronize my thoughts with reality; there is so little real in the World today and I have a need to find it, even if it is just for me but all sorts of things interfered and my notes started to look like a dog’s breakfast [my sincere apologies to the noble race of the dog; it is not my intention to insult the dog World] but the old cliché exists and nobody would understand it if I describe what I saw as “an utter mess as only the human race can make of his life.”

I believe you are a wise man.  We have had very few differences but the two of us know that we can learn from differences and we have done so.

I came to realize as we would all react to being thrown into a large pool filled with icy water and chunks of frozen ice on a bitterly cold winter morning, when it struck me that at the rate we are going right now we will never reconcile all the differences between all the aspirations, hates and prejudice of cultures, languages and the only way out is to withdraw into self and sort the latter out first.

I went on to collect just a few things about our country.  The links are here but you don’t have to read them all now; do it at your leisure when you have the time.  Just remember however, that these are a few illustrations of reality where we are today

http://www.ourcivilisation.com/cry.htm

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/apr/09/university-cape-town-removes-statue-cecil-rhodes-celebration-afrikaner-protest

 https://ikejakson.wordpress.com/2012/02/13/judge-ruth-bader-ginsburg-and-the-south-african-constitution-of-her-dreams-2/

 https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/61197/Man-shot-dead-in-South-Africa

 http://southafricatoday.net/media/hard-news/the-white-ghettos-of-south-africa/

On the last I made a note: “To my friend JP in America number one.  Would you like this?  Note that is what the Bama has for his ultimate goal for you all. But I didn’t send it out or published it.

At that point in time a while after my birthday, I continues to read but could not find a connection point until one night I found this on Google:

“The Berlin Wall. During the early years of the Cold War, West Berlin was a geographical loophole through which thousands of East Germans fled to the democratic West. In response, the Communist East German authorities built a wall that totally encircled West Berlin. It was thrown up overnight, on 13 August 1961.”

This piece comes to you in here verbatim [by copy and paste] and you can check it out but I didn’t even bother to copy the link.

There is a reason for not bothering about the link because that was what chucked me into the freezing water.

I sat up and heard myself saying to myself with my own mouth: “Hey, but this is nonsense; that is not what I have previously been leaded to believe about that wall.”

Since then I have made a thorough and detailed study of that Wall from that night [as quoted above] and right through to the end [including President’s Reagan speech at the Wall until its demolition.

I am still off Google Gmail and doubt whether I will ever care to return.  It’s really a lot of crap; the only decent email system [I don’t care if it is contradicted by anyone] is in Windows as in Gates, name Bill, but I considered all the young fools of today reading that Google excerpt and believing how that Wall went up “overnight.”

But I am here and hope to be around for another little while.  Let me get back to the main purpose my intended Post; please also take that be my swansong in case I should depart from this here old World and you can’t find any trace of where I gone.

Back to the icy water in my face that I mention two or three paragraphs above the South African links.

It struck me like a bolt of hot lightning; we are all living behind walls.

I then had it and put it into an “innards pocket” of my mind; it has been with me for some time to complete the keyboard work up to this point, I have to do all my Internet work this way because of my eye impediment.  The keyboard is set up to key every small bit or a long article in MSWord in a large font that I can still see; when it s done I send it through the spell checker where after I reduce the font size to Verdana 20 and then I  copy/paste to the Post.

Back to the Illusions, the Tall Tales and the Walls.

JP, ole Friend, you know, I carried this around for months and tell you some Tall Tales of Great Men, of grand history, of Money and Men of Money, of Ambition and Memories; many of these Tall Tales could be like that of President Reagan [the Grand Old Man of recent America] that stood at the Brandenburg Gate of the Berlin Wall and challenged Russia with the call “Mister Secretary, take down this Wall” but it would serve no purpose.

Walls are part of our lives, sometimes just in our homes; then there is the fence with the neighbor.  As manufacturing developed walls and later high security walls went up around factories; as crime increased walls went up around entire industrial complexes; when the rich started building their multi million homes it was erected to include a wall right around the entire property; in South Africa of recent times security fences and walls with spikes and/or barbed wire rolls were erected around the entire village or the neighborhood as each one would decide.

I now live in a small hamlet; having to let go of my own scrub fed chickens [for years had my own eggs] and the dog when I moved to my present place; found a neighbor I liked and we started talking about getting dogs and scrub chickens.  You have to talk to your neighbor when you want to do that because you cannot tie your dog down, or tell a scrub chicken not to cross the line into the vegetable patch that you and the neighbor had as we both did; my neighbor became a good friend.  We planted in tandem, shared our crops and did the same as we put in fruit trees and handed each other some that the other did not have on his place.

My neighbor friend died of cancer at the age of 45 three years ago [a sad affair, tragic and sad] and a farmer bought the property on an auction for additional accommodation for a worker that is also needed in town [many of the wealthy farmers do that] and though the new occupant is a nice person they are hardly ever there.  That’s at the back of my property; on my right I have a cop as a neighbor and friend and they have a little Jack Russell dog that befriended me; he barked one night about a year ago [so I have some protection] and the day after when I walked around my abode my tall fruit ladder was gone.  Let me cut this short; the police came and the ladder “walked back all by himself and parked in the same spot behind my dwelling virtually right outside my bedroom window, where I have now chained and padlocked him and the police have circulated the town about the “Old Oom” is happy for the return of his prodigal ladder.  That’s how things are done in rural South Africa because that is all the Police are allowed to do in our land where we have the most modern and most beautiful Constitution and Bill of Rights for We the People; don’t take my word for that; just ask your American Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg; she called it that.

A few nights ago a bundle of fire barbeque wood walked of my place from just in front of my front door in my barbeque area.

Three years ago the drought hit us followed by three very bad winters with black frost and severe damage to my fruit trees, but I managed to keep two orange trees and one fig alive, and our entire olive tree hedge that can survive anything.  My now deceased neighbor and I had planned it together so we had half of the olive trees on his side and half on my side with a sprinkler system fed by my pump on his borehole on his electricity.  We harvest buckets full of black olives and I can a lot myself.

Anyway, between drought and black frost by the start of winter this year I only had one orange tree in fruit this year; by early June 2016 it had exactly 12 beautiful oranges nice yellow but not ripe yet.

One morning a short while later a friend knocked on my door one morning and asked whether I had picked my oranges because he had always noticed them as he walked by and he noticed that morning that there were none.  I walked to the tree with him and he was right.

Now JP, a navel orange blooms in late September and is covered in blooms during the whole of October; the blooms are down and the tiny little dark green fruits are there by early November; they grow from light yellow in April and May to bright yellow round and a sight to behold by end May but that fruit is ripe for picking and eating by about the 29th of June spot on every year, sweet delicious, healthy and wholesome from a tree for which an old man had made the hole in the ground, planted the tree and nursed it through more than five seasons of summers and winters and he was hurt that Monday morning.

Late afternoon Sunday the previous day a group of small beggar children aged between say, 8 and 9 years old had knocked at my door asking whether they could have some oranges and I had told them that I always in good years share my fruit with the hostel children but that the fruit was not ripe yet this time when one interrupted me with “but they are ripe,..” but the annoyance was turning into bile in my throat when he dared to inform me that that had been to the tree and the fruit is ripe, and “they would like some “ because they were hungry.

JP, I had kept my temper under control that Sunday but told them with a voice that I controlled as well as I could that they can come back at the end of the month and I would give them some,  Then I shoved them off and closed the door.

That Monday morning I took my pick axe handle from my storage and called the police.  They arrived on the dot; our police are well trained, good decent civil folks trying daily and putting their own lives at risk every day but “their hands are tied behind their backs” by a Law of Freedom and the Right of these Vagrant Children to Life and Happiness, and seemingly to come and take my oranges during the night.

Anyway, I have now been carried away by my frustrations of the moment, that Monday I told the policeman that they had better put the word out that if that happens again they would have to bring the man from the morgue in to fetch the corpses of three vagrant children with their heads and brains smashed into pulp by a prodigal pick axe handle, and I showed them that item.

JP, forgive the outburst but I must finish this [will consider revising or deleting it before publishing] but I must explain it before I can deal with the Walls around us.

Every one or most in any event of these youthful innocent “chillun o de Lor” of course has a mother.  That is determined as such by the Laws of Nature.  The mother is invariably the child of a drunken father, who has been unemployed for most of his life, and she delivers her first child when she is barely 15; by 16 or 17 she has the second one.  They are all hungry all the time because most of them don’t know the father and in many cases the mother cannot tell you who the father was.  Let me stop the tirade now.

I realize now that there is a wall between us; it is an invisible wall but it is high and impenetrable steel.  We have to erect it to survive.

Ingenious Mankind figured out how to make clocks, watches and other timepieces to tell us the days and dates and days and time accurate to mill fractions of one second.  In many older towns the time clocks sit in towers above the City Hall; in many countries there will be huge monuments of Time to their Nations, as Big Ben over the River Thames in London OK is a good example.

These are however, just mechanical showpieces of the Greatness of Mankind and often merely a showcase of our achievements.

Real time has a Master Clock that is called the Time Clock of the Earth and those that occupy its surface.  Some [and I place myself in that category] call it the clock or the timepiece of Nature; many others [in which I once again place myself] will call it Clock of Creation.  It has a pendulum that ticks along and measure the only Time that really matters.  It is not in the least relevant to me how old the Globe is or how it came to be or whether or how it will continue.  This Clock tells me that Time is infinite.  Mankind cannot measure how old the Globe is; modern man can hardly record anything with meaning more than 500 years ago.  All we know about that is that the World was different World to the one we know today.  Some nations, like Egypt and Israel have located some old artifacts from which they can trace their origins back to 2000 ago, but that is all.

What does it matter anyway?  All that we seem to be able to agree on is that the past is finite, simply because there has to be a beginning.

While we argue on is that the Great Pendulum swings back and forth into all eternity, as far as we can guess what eternity is.  It is all conjecture; the answer is simply that we don’t know and don’t need to know that.  It is merely an illusion that we have to know more.

In the meantime I want a Huge Wall between me and the rest of what is called Democracy in South Africa.  In fact, I am beginning to think that the word Democracy is an illusion in the first place.  Freedom?  What is Freedom when somebody can walk into my small piece of dirt and pick my oranges?  How do you define that Freedom and his Right to live if I get a dog [at this stage I want to get two Rottweiler dogs and two pit bulls and train them to rip to shreds and kill any vagrant entering one inch of my property] but I am not allowed to let one dog touch the little piece of shit when he sneaks in to steal my oranges.

I am suppose to take his little hand and escort him to my gate, give him my oranges and some meat and cake and kiss his little ass.  If he so much as scratches his little hand at the fence the police must come and shoot my dogs and lock me up for assault.

Is this what Freedom has brought us?  Is this Democracy?

No JP, I am getting out of it and build my walls.  No man is an Island, they say, to which I say “then you will find a heck of a lot of small Islands in my area as we say: and Up You to Freedom and Democracy.”
